My name is Holly and I am a native to this beautiful red rock country for the last 30 years. I have experienced everything that Moab has to offer. Cable Arch is also known as Funnel Arch to many of us locals and is a very impressive arch close to Moab. Even though the trip from town is only 15 minutes and the hike is only around 20 minutes, it is still unknown to most. The hike does require a little rock climbing but nothing too intense. Once you get to Cable Arch you will see a cable attached to the slick rock that allows you to climb up the slope and take you to the top and overlook the views which are very breath-taking and not only is this hike easy but to enjoy the views in peace and quiet. The trail is only about a mile long and is dog friendly. To get to Cable Arch you will drive down Kane Creek Springs Road which follows along the Colorado River until it turns into a well graveled/dirt road. Follow the gravel/dirt road for about 2 miles. Before the road turns to paved, you will see a parking lot on your left hand side, and that is where to park to hike Cable Arch. Once you to the switchbacks that go downhill that are paved you have gone to far. At the top of the switchbacks you will see a little parking lot on the left, park there and your journey begins there.
