Arches National Park

Arches National Park is home to the world’s largest concentration of natural sandstone arches. Its unique formations create a dessert-scape unlike any other you’ve seen before. Spanning over 76,000 acres, the park contains over 2,000 arches located inside the park. Visitors will also discover massive sandstone fins, balanced rocks, and soaring spires.

There are many ways to explore Arches National Park, with everything from a guided tour to self-guided hikes. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, canyoneering, rock climbing, stargazing, and more during their visit. The park is open year-round and is most popular between March and October. There is an entrance fee of $30 that is good for seven days. The entrance to the park is located five miles north of Moab and a 10-minute drive from Hotel Moab Downtown.

Canyonlands National Park

As the largest national park in Utah, Canyonlands National Park offers plenty to see and do. See where the Colorado and Green River have carved out a complex network of deep chasms, vertical cliffs, and towering spires. Spanning 527 square miles, the large park is divided into three sections: The Needles, Island in the Sky, and the Maze.

The Needles section is filled with red and white spires made of Cedar Mesa sandstone and is a hiker’s dream. Island in the Sky is a flat mesa covered with grasslands, forests, and ample slickrock. The scenic drive runs through the middle of the mesa and offers various viewpoints and hikes. One of the best views can be seen from the Grand View Point. The Maze is the most remote part of the park, covered with interlocking canyons and amazing views.

Explore Canyonlands National Park

Scenic drives are a popular way to see the park, along with hiking and biking. But there are other ways in which to explore including, 4WD roads, climbing, commercial guides, horseback riding, and more.

The park is open year-round and is most popular in April/May and September/October. There is a $30 entrance fee that is good for seven days. The entrance to the park is located 32 miles from Moab.
